Looking at the Fringe Candidates for Oakland Mayor

The Oakland mayoral special election is tonight and we have many fascinating candidates I am watching very closely today I will tell you about a few and predict their vote totals.

 first is Peter Y. Liu a strange man with unique policies his main idea is his so called “CESP5” which he says will make everyone a millionaire it’s a board game where you and even friends say your business ideas then are required to do them which…….somehow is gonna make everyone a millionaire in five years and a billionaire in ten. He also has some other ideas like repeal literally all of Oakland’s gun control laws, Create state of the art theme parks to replace all of Oakland’s sports teams and have each policemen form a 7 person militia. He has received some support from Chinese people cause he’s Chinese and from Oakland’s small MAGA community for his proud republicanism but now that there’s another Republican in the race named Mindy Pechenuk and he’s emphasized his CESP5 plan calling into question holding his 1,200 vote total from 2022. (812 votes) 

There is also President Cristina Grappo a former senate candidate in 2016 she doesn’t have exceedingly bizarre policies she is a rather moderate democrat she has some kinda weird policies like incentivizing voting with cryptocurrency to boost turnout among youth and enforcing strict enforced hygiene requirements in homeless encampments but those both aren’t that bad ideas what is so unique about her is that to me she seems really unpolished what i believe is that she is a normal grandmother just trying out politics she has run a low intensity campaign I am not sure where she will end up vote wise. (1,162 votes) 

Then there’s Eric Simpson the Socialist Workers Party standard bearer for this election he has very few specific policies even saying he has no policy on the all important budget deficit giving no specific or detailed answer on the possibly more important issue of public safety and says he just thinks there should be a socialist revolution. (552 votes) 

Then there’s Elizabeth Swaney a centrist former gold medal skier who seems to be running a more vanity style campaign admitting she has never voted before promising to give companies the naming rights to city buildings for sponsorship like they are stadiums making it much easier to become a cop and putting gondolas in the bay going from Oakland to San Fransisco. (1,762 votes) 

Then there’s Reina Webb a more successful fringe candidate polling at 1% she has rather normal progressive policies and is trying to be the median between the center left Loren Thomas and the left wing Barbara Lee and she has some credentials for blowing the whistle on Sheng Thao’s corruption which she has almost mythologized with bizarre statements like saying Thao’s boyfriend not only attempted to kill her many times with poision but also snuck into her home while she was sleeping and relieved himself on her from a vent above her bed.
